In Loving Memory of Emmy

On January 29, 2005, we said goodbye to our sweet old girl, Emmy. We rescued
Emmy from a breeder when she was 5 years old, and at that time we were her fifth
home in as many years. For the next 7.5 years, she was the best friend,
comforter, companion, and mumma to all beings who passed through our
house--human and otherwise. It was because of Emmy that we became involved with
GSP rescue, and she was a surrogate mumma to countless puppies and dogs who were
fostered in our home and needed nurturing. When we had a skin baby of our own,
Emmy became a gentle companion, protector, and playmate for the baby as well.
In her 13th year, all those years of breeding took their final toll, and Emmy's
severe hip dysphasia combined with other degenerative conditions brought an end
to her much-too-short life. We weep for her passing but try to remember that she
has now joined the many who have gone before her to the Rainbow Bridge where she
is without pain and is able to romp freely through the fields. Bless your heart
Emmy; our loss is great, and we miss you desperately.
